Clinical Diagnostic (Checking the Function)
The Mobility Spine and Rehab Center Examination Assessments
For a skilled clinician, the physical examination and bedside testing still provide the most insight to a patient’s health condition. Our examination is anything but a “quick check-up”. Depending on the involvement of your concern, our physical exam can take anywhere form 30-90 minutes.
When examining a patient, the doctor is playing detective– the more clues that they can gather, the more accurately they can identify the cause. We perform the typical physical exam that you would receive from any other doctor, but then we go above and beyond. We do a thorough orthopedic exam, a chiropractic exam, and a neurological examination that is second to none. In our neurological examination we locate areas of miscommunication. There are actually seven main areas where dysfunction can occur in the nervous system, causing proper communication to be lost.
In each of these seven areas there is typically a right and a left subdivision that function separately. Those subdivisions have subdivisions, in which dysfunction can be localized. As you can imagine, this results in thousands of possibilities. Our job is to triangulate the area of dysfunction and create a protocol to restore proper communication to all of the involved areas.
There are four different types of evaluations that we use to triangulate the area of involvement: sensory, motor, mental and postural. None of our evaluations involve invasive methods.
We utilize researched neuropsychological assessments to get a better, objective understanding of other brain functions:
- processing
- attention
- impulsivity
- anxiety
